Attractions in Sanford, Florida, are interesting and unusual. With Sanford being only 25 minutes northeast of Orlando, it is well worth making a day trip, or several, there to enjoy what the quaint area has to offer.

Fun 2 Dive Scuba, Snorkeling and Manatee Tours has Captain Joe taking a maximum of six people out on a boat for several hours to find manatees to swim and play with as well as finding areas for scuba diving and snorkeling in the Crystal River clear waters. A wet suit and other necessary equipment is provided. You end up at a beautiful natural springs where you can relax and swim.

Rivership Romance is a totally different experience out on the water. It is a cruise through lovely landscape with a nature talk by the Cruise Director. The four-hour cruise offers a breakfast buffet upon arrival and later a nice selection of entrees for lunch. Dessert might be cheesecake with a raspberry sauce. The entertainment is said to be fabulous, and the staff is very friendly. This cruise is also quite popular for a wedding.

Flea World is a huge flea market for the bargain shopper. The variety of merchandise goes from clothes and jewelry to antiques to seafood and fresh produce!

Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens has 23 acres of lush tropical foliage which contain over 400 animals, a Reptile House, an Insect Zoo, live encounters with animals, and many demonstrations.

The spacious Jeanine Taylor Folk Art Gallery is home to contemporary folk art from Florida and other states in the Deep South. There are eight working artist studios. The art of 20 to 30 self-taught artists is featured in events, shows, and educational programs.

Hot Pots is a unique experience. Unfinished pottery sits on shelves, and you make your choice. Then the owner, Debra Lindgren, helps everyone as they use paint, stencils, and brushes to make a memorable piece to be finished in her kiln and then adorn the home of the painter.
